Lockerbie College is delighted to announce that from September 2022 all students, from age 7 through 18, will be Cambridge Leaners.

Parents have been seeking educational alternatives with a global perspective, supported by an international examination body which effectively pivots to solve obstacles in education.

From the Cambridge International Primary Curriculum Matrix, our students will travel the ‘Cambridge Pathway’, through Lower Secondary to IGCSE (O levels) and on to A Levels which will successfully gain them entry to Colleges and Universities anywhere in the world.

WHY LOCKERBIE COLLEGE?

Significant learning happens when a student’s natural curiosity is aroused in a stimulating environment that encourages individuality, academic risks and resilience. Innovation and entrepreneurship are vital to preparing students for a world that will value creativity and critical thinking as much as it will demand technical proficiency and project-based teamwork.

OUR VISION

Students today need to prepare for a very different future, inspired by individual interests; we encourage big dreams while building competent skill sets, creating inquisitive global citizens and lifelong learners.

OUR MISSION

Beyond robust academics, we holistically impact the lives of our students by providing a caring, stimulating, and safe place for each one to trust they are authentic, unique, and valued.

OUR VALUES

We model respect within our community; everyone is valued and included. We teach students how to enjoy learning, life and laughter and allow them time and space to be who they are and discover who they might become.

LOCKERBIE CHANGES LIVES

“When I was about 7, my parents met with my class teacher who said that in all of her many years of teaching, I was the ‘slowest’ student she had ever taught and that she did not know what else to do. My mother was in a panic, so I began 18 months of working with Julia, who believed in me and my ability to succeed. During that time, I began to love learning and my faith in myself was transformed. I learned skills that became a part of me – using them up to now without being aware of it. In 2014, I was a Barbados Exhibition winner and went to university, receiving a BSc in Psychology with First Class Honours. I will be pursuing a Masters Degree in a Neuroscience-related field and my journey will not end there. From being the ‘slowest child’ my teacher had seen, I have what is now called ‘Lockerbie Learning’ to thank for my continued success. All it took was someone to understand how I learned and show me how important it is to believe in myself. I thank Julia, from the bottom of my heart, for planting the seed that continues to blossom. I could not be where I am today without her.”
