MAINSTREAM LEARNING $6900 / TERM      FOR 5-6 SUBJECTS

The Cambridge IGCSE begins in Form 4 and is a 2 year programme of study. After the Form 3 ‘Taster Year’, students choose, in addition to Mathematics and English Language, three to five additional subjects, based on interest and proficiency, to sit IGCSE examinations.

The IGCSE is a good option if the student has strengths in assimilating knowledge and demonstrating this knowledge in exams.

MAINSTREAM LEARNING $8600 / TERM       FOR 7-8 SUBJECTS

Students who have high academic ability can take up to six additional subjects for IGCSE. This does not leave room for support classes, so students who carry this workload are recognised as advanced placement candidates.

Another important detail in IGCSE’s favour is its status with universities in the UK. In the absence of A-Level results, universities may take into account the IGCSE results to offer placement. If a student wants to study in the UK, IGCSEs help to provide universities with a more rounded picture of student ability and achievement. It has high value as an international qualification by European universities and North American Colleges. These institutions will take IGCSEs into account alongside the relevant A-Levels taken in Form 6.
